My suggestion would be to all him to cry himself back to sleep as long as he is not hysterically wailing, but I wouldn't let me go beyound a half an hour or 45 min. When he hits 5 months old I would allow him to cry up to one hour, but no longer. I had to do a couple of times when my son was 5 months old and thankfully it was only a couple of times. He got the idea that I wasn't going to save him if he really didn't need to eat. My son is 8 months old and he just started to wake up during the night again and I let him cry most of the time because I notice if I don't let him cry he continues to get up throughout the night. I've been really fortunate, he's been sleeping 12 hours though the night since he was about 4 months old. Hope this helps. I know it can be difficult especially when you have to work the next day, but take my advice and anyone elses with a grain of salt, because you are the only one that truely knows your baby.
