My son recently went to 2 naps a day. At first it was great he was sleeping for 1 hr for each nap which was a lot better than the 30-40 minutes he was getting. He was also still sleeping through the nights. This lasted for 2 days and the last 2 days he has only been sleeping for 30-40 minutes again and waking up 3 times during the night.

He also was settling to sleep by himself just fine but now he quite often needs to be rocked a bit or have me in the room to go to sleep which is unusual for him.

At first I thought wow he made the change really well but now I don't know what happened. Is this normal and will it eventually sort itself out or not. Should I try going back to 3 sleeps or will that just make it worse. He has only been doing the 2 naps a day for 4-5 days so I was wondering if it will just take a bit longer for him to adjust.

I think I would keep up the 2 naps per day, not going back to other, 3 naps. he just needs more adjustment time. After he knows this is the new schedule , he will adjust. I think the need for a little rocking will take more adjusting to the new schedule. Cool
