I've looked over the member site and e-book section and cannot find ANYWHERE that gives advice on how to increase the length of naps. That's one of the reasons why I purchased a membership. My 10.5 month old daughter is a catnapper and has been so since we moved from the west coast to the east coast–when she was 7.5 months old. Lately I've been giving her the opportunity to go back to sleep after her 30 minute sleep cycle–sometimes she will go back to sleep. Most of the time she does not. I know she's still tired and it affects her nighttime sleep.
Does anyone have any advice on this? I can't seem to get an answer and I've searched ALL over the internet.

HI there-

I hope your baby's naps have improved!

As far as lengthening naps goes, first step is a good consistent nap routine, then be sure your baby is not over tired, opt for an earlier nap rather than a later one, and then you'll have to do some "sleep training" to help your daughter learn how to fall asleep and back to sleep on her own. She is most likely waking after one sleep cycle, and is not easliy able to fall back to sleep on her own for a longer nap. Because your problem is a short nap and not the initial naptime, she should fall asleep initially at naptime the same way she is to go BACK to sleep the rest of the nap.

Since you are a member, you have the information in the ebooks if you need advice on sleep training.

Best of luck, and hope all goes smoothly!!
