Milestones and overtiredness

Hi!  i have a challenging sleeper of a baby.  she's always has nap issues.  very inconsistent nap lengths and she gets overtired VERY easy.  she's definately not one of those babies that can nap here and there and be ok.  i've had a sleep consult with nicole at around 7 months to help me get her to nap in her own crib and it helped SOOOOOO much!  i recommend her to everyone.

So she is almost 10 months old now and this week she hit several milestones at one time.  sitting up by herself, crawling on all fours (she had been army crawling for 2 months) and pulling up on her own and even standing for a few seconds without holding on.  She has definitely been playing hard these past few days.

She is so very tired now, almost all the time.  she's gone back to 3 naps for the past few days because she's just exhausted.  she can't even stay up 2 hours before needing her first nap (this time it was an hour 40 mins before she was just laying her head on the floor and rubbing eyes).  she typically stays up 3 hours between naps but these past few days it's been 2 hours tops.

i just wanted to know if this was normal and if there was something i could do to help her or if it will just even out on it's own?

Wow! That is a lot of milestones all at once! I think you are doing the right thing in offering her an extra nap while she is needing it. It is definitely more important to keep her rested and happy than to have the "correct" number of naps. I would say to keep it up, keep an eye on her sleep patterns as you have been doing, and hopefully things will adjust on their own soon. Just watch out for introducing any new sleep associations that you will have to break later.

Best wishes!
