Hi!  I've had the pleasure of having a consult with nicole when LO was about 7 months old and she helped us so much.

She's 10.5 months old now and i'm having a weird reoccuring problem.  My baby shows sleep signals SUPER early.  Her signs are rubbing face and eyes.  Today is a good example.  She slept 12 hours last night with one MOTN feeding and woke at 6am.  at 8:30 she went down for a nap and slept for an hour and a half.  Within an hour of her being up she was rubbing her face.  It got increasingly worse and i ended up having to put her down early for her next nap which is usually about 3 hours later.  she fussed and all that before going to sleep so eventually it ended up being 3 hours anyway.  the day and night before was good for sleep too so i don't think it's overtiredness from days ago or anything.

i'm just not sure what's going on here.  she's always been like this a bit.  she gets overtired extremely easy so i try to battle it the best i can.  i try extending nap times so she can go to bed a little later and it works for awhile and then it backfires and we end up going back to 6pm bedtime with a 6am wake up.  we had a good 2 weeks of 6:30 BT and a 7am WU which was amazing!  it's gonna take a miracle, i feel, to get back to that!

ok i'm rabbit trainling here.  just curious if anyone knows what might be going on to make her show sleepy signs so early.

Hi-

There is a lot of developmental milestones and growth going on at this age, and she may be using her body (and brain) more and be tiring herself out a bit! Good for you for noticing and following her tired signs, and go ahead and keep it up. It may be just a couple of weeks where she needs more rest.

Best Wishes!
