Hi,
My sons is 8 months old today and he did really well on the sixth month sleep schedule but of course he's getting older and is now able to stay awake longer between the naps. I have been using the 7 month schedule for 4 weeks now and he's still having a hard time with it. He's awake by 6.45 and nursing at 7 and can't stay awake until his next nap at 10.30 so he has a cat nap at 8.30 to 9.00 (I have to wake him up).
When he takes his nap at 10.30 we wake him up at 12.15 and he goes back down at 2.00pm. This part of the day is great. Sometimes he will sleep until 4pm (!) that's a good day because we can get him ready to be in bed at 6.30pm. But on many other days he'll sleep until 3pm and has TOO much time until his bedtime and he's cranky and we have to put him to bed at 6pm although even that seems too late on those days. I have thought about trying to put him down for another cat nap in the afternoon but we have a dog and with nursing and other schedules I nurse at 4pm and walk the dog with the baby and it's harder for him to fall asleep in the stroller so the cat nap is not really an option.
Does anyone else have a good schedule for a baby who is still nursing every 3 hours so that he's not up so long in between naps?
