Hello again!

What's the rules about pacifiers? Our little 8 mo old wasn't using them much at all, except when we travel, but now that he's much more mobile and has a harder time calming himself in the crib (especially after standing and crying) we've been giving it to him more and more.  I'm afraid he's getting dependent on it during partial awakenings at night and during naps.

I should probably nix it all together, huh?Embarassed

I think you are probably right in that if the pacifier has become a problem, then working to transition him from needing the
pacifier to go to sleep and to stay asleep is a good idea. Her ability to learn to go to sleep
on his own and to go back to sleep at night when he wakes will really only
happen once he’s no longer dependent on the pacifier to go to sleep.

There is no magic answer, but there are different methods
of sleep training that you can use to help teach her this including no cry and
limited crying methods.

Good luck!!!
