We have had a couple of nights in the last month, where our baby goes to bed and then starts screaming(ear peircing), arching her back, swing her arms; about an 1hour after she goes to sleep. Last night the episode lasted about 20-30 mins. and I tried to snuggle, nurse, rock, walk, and anything I could think of to try and calm her. Finally, I decided to run a bath( she loves the bath) and soon after I started running the tub she stopped screaming. I have older children and it reminds me of the night terrors my son started having at the age of 4. Has anyone else experienced this with babies? It makes me so sad watch her freak out and I feel so helpless.Frown

While not true "night terrors," it sounds like your daughter is having confulsional events, or partial arousals. Partial wakings and confusional events are normal,  happen at any age from birth and up, and the event can last 1 or 40 minutes.

Here is a link to a series of articles that I think you will find very informative and useful:

Good luck, and of course, you can always talk to your doctor if you are concerned!
