so i emailed Nicole and we had a plan, but i cant afford to keep emailing her.  here is what happened. We decided to work on bedtime with him in bed with me due to his screaming and crying on a regurlar basis. with me there the hope was that i would be able to keep him from escalating. That did not work at all.=

so my lo was colicky. this lead me to picking him and soothing him with every wimper. He also is sleeping in my room, so out of exhaustion i picked him and nursed him to sleep if he woke up. well now he is 5.5 months and i am DONE!!!!!! BAby was getting up every 1-2hrs and taking hours to fall asleep with me rocking him! I am beyhond exhausted. with my first ds we cio and it was bad but not nearly this bad! I was prepared for it to take awhile …as he can cry and scream for over an hour just if he is tired! But i was not expecting 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i did my normal routine, bath,pj, low lights, white noise. I nursed him to droswsy and laid him down next to me in bed so i could comfort him ..hoping i could control his crying by just being there to sing or pat but not to help him sleep!  Well after 3hrs i just got up and left because i was no help. also about 1.5hrs he got quiet and closed his eye for a sec and then was awake screaming again! well at the four hour mark he passed out for about 20mins or so. When he awoke i got him up nursed him  and put him in his bassent to sleep for the n ight. I was trying to break up the cio and start with just bedtime since i knew i could not do this all night long. I would start the  rest of the night once bed time was going well. any adv or hugs please! I plan on trying agin tonight, except i going to lay him in his crib because there was no point of my bed or me. is this a good idea? I should add he is use to sleeping in a rocker thing from fisher price. ITs shaped like a carseat and can rock. So he is not use to sleeping flat either!

Did you try this for one night or for more than one night? The first few nights can be the hardest but sometimes after a few nights, then they start to get the idea of what's going on.

With putting him in his crib, he may still cry but you can shush and pat him just to let him know you are there. It may not comfort him but he will still know you are there.

How well is he napping? I'm wondering if he's overtired from not napping enough during the day which is making the night time sleep harder. What time does he wake for the day and what time do you start bedtime?

It's definitely going to be a transition for him to go from sleeping in the rocking chair to a flat, non moving surface, but consistency is going to be key.
