I'm going through sleep regression – she is 4months. She used to sleep swaddled and bounced in her bouncy and slept for 8-10 hour stretches.
I tried a new routine with the advice from the free pamphlets.
Bathed, lotioned, read to her, ate and put on a fun light and tried to get her to self soothe. When she fussed I was there. Did this for about 15 mins. She started to scream. She would nod off in my arms when I bounced and swayed and then woke up and SCREAMED. She screamed on her own and I continued to sway and bounce. She fell asleep after about 45 mins
Slept for 4.5 hrs *improvement!*
She woke up, I changed her, fed her, bounced her – back to the screaming and fell asleep quicker
woke up 3 hrs later (4:30am) changed her diaper and screamed for 30 mins. Would nod off, I put her down and she was awake again and I had to start the bounce/swaying. I gave up, gave her a bottle. Did the bouncing again and finally after an hour later she fell asleep. Heard her whining a bit, she'd fall back to sleep and did this for the next hour.
We finally woke up at 6:30am.
My question, how do I get her to stop screaming like a banshee?! What am I doing wrong?
I want to add today she is aweful for my husband. Wont eat well and is screaming – took a nap and when he tried to feed her, she started eating, choked and now he cant get her to eat.
